What makes this course unique
Talk to Allah (swt) – Du'a (دعا) is a 5-week project-based learning course that invites students to experience Du'a as a heartfelt dialogue with Allah (swt). Rather than treating Du'a as a transaction or a formula, this course helps students see it as a source of closeness, calm, trust, and guidance. Learning does not take place through lectures; instead, students reflect, create, discuss, and apply what they learn through a meaningful creative project. The course is grounded in the Qur'an and the teachings of Ahlulbayt(as) and is designed to strengthen students' Shia Islamic identity and their personal connection with Allah(swt) and Ahlulbayt(as).
Students explore what Du'a truly is: recognizing human dependence on Allah (swt) and responding to His invitation to call upon Him.
Surah Ghafir (40:60)
Du'a 1 – beginning Du'a with praise (hamd) and humility.
Students learn how Du'a is the believer's response to divine revelation, rising back to Allah (swt) as sincere speech from the heart.
Surah Fatir (35:10)
Du'a 7 – intimate supplication during hardship and hope.
Students examine the inner and outer etiquette of Du'a, including sincerity, humility, and moral readiness.
Surah Al-A'raf (7:55)
Du'a 20 (Du'a Makarem al-Akhlaq) as a model for presenting Du'a.
Students identify and clarify common misunderstandings about why Du'a may seem unanswered and how Allah's (swt) response takes different forms.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186)
Relevant narrations on Du'a and divine wisdom.
Students reflect on how consistent Du'a shapes character, patience, gratitude, and trust in Allah (swt).
Surah Ibrahim (14:39–41) – the Du'as of Prophet Ibrahim (as).
Daily Du'as of the week (e.g., Du'a of Sunday).
Du'a in My Voice
Throughout the five weeks, students work on a creative reflection project that expresses what Du'a means to them and how it connects their heart to Allah (swt). Students may choose formats such as short videos, audio reflections, posters, infographics, or short stories. The project emphasizes sincerity over performance, reflection over explanation, and connection over outcomes. This process helps students develop spiritual reflection, creativity, collaboration, communication skills, and emotional awareness, while forming the habit of turning to Allah (swt) with confidence and love.
